I ran into this particular Alternative Energy project while searching for a project I am kind of working on for my Dad. I am researching AC generators, and how to go about creating an AC hydroelectric generator that my aunt can use. They have a little stream that runs by thier house all year, and would like to harness it for electricity. This video just happened to be on the same site, Utter Power.

I am working on some more research into this new technology.  Here is the website for solar-roadways.  The idea certainly looks very good.  They have been able to design the glass top so that it has the same traction as asphalt, the glass of course needs to be shatter and crack resistant.  They have even gone so far as to see what would need to be done to keep the glass clean continually.  All of these things can be found on their website, and I recommend you read up on it for yourself.
